1301 km of track with over 100 years of history. The Benguela Railway is the only rail link from Central Africa to the Atlantic Ocean. Its construction, initiated on March 1, 1903, stemmed from the August 1899 law and was completed on February 2, 1929.
On June 10, 1931, the first shipment of copper from Katanga, a province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, arrived at the Port of Lobito.
